What is the job about?

We are looking for a commercial lawyer to work as in-house Legal Counsel alongside our CTO, CIO and Director of Legal Services to drive continuous improvement and assist the business in maintaining strong financial results and full compliance with current legislation.

The successful applicant will join Global Procurement Group’s legal team to cover services in Malta, and be involved in a wide-ranging scope of work types and projects, including all brands that fall under Global Procurement Group’s banner.

This role is highly suited to proactive individuals who enjoy working collaboratively, developing relationships with key stakeholders and thinking creatively to provide practical and commercial solutions.

What exactly will you do?

  • Operate within our services department working to short deadlines
  • Advise the business on issues around Commercial, corporate, regulatory and employment law
  • Review and advise on transactional documents
  • Draft and negotiate commercial contracts
  • Ensure the business complies with current legislation
  • Assist with disputes and litigation
  • Evaluate new business partnerships with vendors and subcontractors
  • Protect the company against legal risks and violations
  • Support drafting and reviewing policies related to our compliance and regulations
  • Support with maintaining the legal register

What we’re looking for

We are looking for a proactive, hardworking, personable and organised individual with some or all of the following experience:

  • In house legal experience
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role
  • Experience working to deadlines in high pressure environments
  • Experience working alongside HR, Sales and Finance Teams

Candidates must have a license to practice Law in Malta and hold a certification from an accredited university.
