The opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Business Intelligence Engineer to join our team and play a crucial role in driving our data platforms forward. You will have the opportunity to design and shape our modern data warehouse and build necessary reports to improve our operations. With your expertise, you will be instrumental in enabling our teams to rapidly extract the required information.

What is the job about?

As a Business Intelligence Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our data warehouse. You will collaborate with Software Developers, DevOps Engineers, and Security Analysts to ensure that data processing is secure, scalable, and reliable. Your proficiency in ETL processes, data warehousing, and reporting will be crucial to further evolve our platform. You will continuously evaluate and implement new technologies and tools to improve data engineering processes and infrastructure.

What exactly will you do?

• Design and develop ETL processes, data warehouse structures, and integration solutions.
• Develop and maintain embedded reports and dashboards, and enable self-service reporting.
• Collaborate with developers for seamless product development and integrations.
• Ensure data integrity and build tools to detect and reduce occurrences of errors.
• Provide technical expertise and support for data-related projects and initiatives.
• Assist stakeholders with ad-hoc and custom reports as needed.

What we’re looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience as a software developer working on data projects, data warehouses, or business intelligence.
• Good coding and scripting skills using PHP, Python, or JavaScript, ideally js.
• Experience designing data warehouse schemas to simplify reporting and self-service.
• Experience developing and querying MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, ClickHouse, or other databases.
• Experience building batch-based ETL processes and/or real-time streaming ETL processes using NiFi or other Apache projects.
• Proficient in consuming data from Google PubSub, RabbitMQ, Kafka, or other message delivery systems.
• Proficient in visualising data and producing reports using Grafana, Power BI, Tableau, QlikView, or other open-source visualisation tools.
• Knowledge in cloud-based business intelligence solutions is a plus.
